Saved by the Bell is back and is set to premiere on Wednesday, November 25. A direct sequel to the original Saved by the Bell (1989–1993) and Saved by the Bell: The College Years (1993–1994), it features most of the main characters from the original series. However, due to geographic restrictions, you’ll need a Virtual Private Network (VPN) in order to watch Saved by the Bell online while traveling abroad (outside the US).
Please keep in mind that we’re only recommending official sources for watching Saved by the Bell online. Any unlicensed streams you’re likely to come across run the risk of being taken offline by the copyright holder. Furthermore, they’ll probably be at low resolutions, with frequent lag and buffering. If you’d like to watch Saved by the Bell online in the highest quality, it’s far safer to stick with the official sources listed below.
Saved by the Bell is only available for streaming on region-locked platforms. To continue watching via your regular home streaming services while traveling abroad, you’ll need a VPN.
How to watch Saved by the Bell online with a VPN
A VPN routes your internet traffic through an encrypted tunnel and provides you with a new, temporary IP address. By connecting to a server in the United States, you can spoof your location and watch Saved by the Bell even if you’re in another country entirely.
Here’s how to watch the Saved by the Bell Reboot online from anywhere:
- Sign up with a VPN provider. We recommend ExpressVPN although NordVPN and Surfshark are value-for-money alternatives that are ideal for streaming.
- Download and install the appropriate VPN app for the device on which you plan to watch Saved by the Bell online.
- Open the VPN app (or browser extension) before connecting to a server in the US. You’ll be assigned a US IP address for unblocking Peacock from abroad.
- Now you can go to Peacock and sign in (or sign up for an account). All content should now be unblocked and available to watch in your location.
- If you’re still encountering geographic restrictions, you should clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Otherwise, try getting in touch with your VPN’s customer support.
How to watch Saved by the Bell Season 1 on US TV
Saved by the Bell will premiere on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service. There are three different types of plans available: Peacock (free), Peacock Premium ($4.99 USD/month), and Peacock Premium Plus ($9.99/month). In order to be able to watch the new Saved by the Bell 2020 reboot, you’ll need to select one of the paid plans. The key difference between the two paid options is that Peacock Premium Plus doesn’t include ads.
Note that the free Peacock plan doesn’t allow you to watch the new Saved by the Bell. However, you can use it to watch the original Saved series free of charge. It’s also worth knowing that if you’re an Xfinity or Cox customer, you may be eligible for full access to Peacock Premium at no additional cost.
Peacock is only available in the United States which means that its content is region-locked abroad. In order to be able to watch it, you’ll need to connect to a VPN server in the US and get a US IP address. You should then be all set even if you’re traveling abroad! ExpressVPN works with Peacock and even includes a 30-day money-back guarantee. As such, you can try it out risk-free and, if unsatisfied, receive a full refund upon request.
Where else can I watch Saved by the Bell online?
Unfortunately, there aren’t many other options for streaming Saved by the Bell. As yet, there’s no information regarding a potential UK broadcast of the show. However, there’s good news for Saved by the Bell fans in Canada.
Canada
Earlier this year, Corus announced it had acquired the streaming and TV rights to Peacock shows. This includes the new Saved by the Bell sequel. You can watch Saved by the Bell in Canada on Global TV. New episodes are available to stream without signing in for the first seven days after broadcast. After this, you’ll need to sign in with your cable TV provider to watch them. This requires providing the same login details you use with your cable TV subscription (an email address or username and password).
You can also watch Saved by the Bell by subscribing to StackTV on Amazon Prime Video Channels. In Canada, Amazon Prime costs $7.99 CAD per month while StackTV is a $12.99/month add-on. Both come with a 30-day free trial. Note that GlobalTV and Amazon Prime/StackTV are geo-blocked and only available in Canada. This means you’ll need to connect to a VPN server in Canada for a Canadian IP address to watch abroad.
What can we expect from the new Saved by the Bell?
Saved by the Bell is a TV sitcom and a direct sequel to the original Saved by the Bell series (1989–1993) and Saved by the Bell: The College Years (1993–1994). The show’s executive producer, Tracey Wigfield, has emphasized that this is not a reboot but rather a “reimagining” of the original series.
Season 1 will be made up of 10 new episodes. The story follows a new group of Bayside High students from a mix of “overprivileged” and working-class families. After the California governor (now Zack Morris!) closes too many low-income schools, the students are sent to the highest performing schools in the state including Bayside High.
Which cast members are returning for Saved by the Bell 2020?
There’s good news for fans of the original show. Most of the main Saved the Bell characters are back to reprise their original roles. This includes Elizabeth Berkley as Jessie Spano (Jamie’s mother and Guidance Counselor at Bayside High) and Mario Lopez as A.C Slater (a physical education teacher and coach at Bayside High).
Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris) and Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) will feature as Mac’s parents and the Governor and First Lady of California. However, Gosselaar is in just three episodes while Thiessen appears in one. Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) will make a guest appearance as a former Bayside High student and we can also expect to see Ed Alonzo as Max (the owner of The Max) and Patrick Thomas O’Brien as Mr. Dewey.
One notable exception is Dustin Diamond (Screech) who was not invited to reprise his role. However, Screech will be referenced throughout the show’s first season. We’ll also see the addition of plenty of new cast members including John Michael Higgins as Principal Toddman, Haskiri Velazquez as Daisy, and Mitchell Hoog as Mac Morris.
