The third season of Britannia will premiere on August 24. Better yet, it’ll release all eight episodes simultaneously, so fans won’t have to put up with the usual week-long wait between episodes. There’s plenty to look forward to; read on to find out how to stream Britannia season 3 from anywhere in the world using a VPN.
It’s worth mentioning that this post will only recommend official Britannia sources. Unauthorized streams are notoriously unreliable and usually don’t offer anywhere near the same level of quality. On the plus side, there are plenty of legitimate ways to stream Britannia online, so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding an official source, regardless of where you are.
Season 3 of Britannia will only be broadcast on region-locked streaming platforms. This means that if you’re traveling abroad, you’ll need a VPN to watch the services you’d use back home.
How to watch Britannia from anywhere with a VPN
With the right VPN, you can unblock and start watching geo-restricted content in a matter of minutes. Setting up a VPN is simple, so don’t worry if you have never used one before, just follow our step-by-step guide below.
Here’s how to watch Britannia season 3 from anywhere:
- Start by signing up for a suitable VPN. We recommend using NordVPN, but Surfshark and ExpressVPN are two high-quality alternatives.
- Next, you’ll have to install the VPN app. Most providers allow five or so simultaneous connections, so it’s a good idea to add it to any device you plan to stream on.
- Decide which streaming service you’d like to unblock.
- Connect to one of your VPN’s servers in the appropriate location. You’ll need a UK server to access Now TV abroad, for instance, or an American server for Epix.
- Log into your chosen service and try playing a video. If everything has gone to plan, it’ll start right away. Otherwise, clear your cookies and try again. Failing this, it’s best to contact your VPN provider directly for further support.

How to stream Britannia season 3 on UK TV
British viewers can stream every episode of Britannia on Now TV from August 24. This service’s Entertainment pass costs £9.99 per month, with a one-week free trial. Alternatively, you can watch one episode each week on Sky Atlantic; existing Sky TV customers will be able to stream this channel at no added cost using the Sky Go app.
Both of the services we’ve mentioned are region-locked, meaning you won’t be able to watch Britannia on them if you’re outside the UK. However, if you use a British VPN server, you should be able to access them as normal from anywhere. NordVPN includes a 30-day money-back guarantee so that you can try it risk-free.
Where else can I stream Britannia online?
Australia
Foxtel TV customers will be able to watch season 3 of Britannia from 8:30 PM AEST on August 25 using the Foxtel Go app. Don’t have cable? No problem: new episodes will also be joining the first two seasons on Binge shortly afterward. Plans start at $10 AUD per month, and there’s a week-long free trial included.
These services are only available in Australia. If you’re out of the country at the moment, you’ll have to use a VPN to access them.
USA
Epix (now MGM+) is now the official home of Britannia in the US, having purchased the rights from Amazon last year. After a long wait, the company finally announced that season 3 would arrive on January 16, 2022.
If your cable package already includes Epix, you can just sign into the website and start watching right away at no added cost. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to watch Epix without cable, you can log in with a Sling TV or YouTube TV account. The cheapest way to watch, though, is to get the Epix addon for Amazon Prime Video, which costs $5.99 USD per month.
The above services are all geo-restricted, so you’ll need a VPN to access them abroad.
Canada
It’s really quite easy to stream Britannia in Canada. That’s because CBC Gem currently offers seasons one and two, completely free of charge. We’re still waiting to hear when (or if) this platform will have season 3 at some point as well. You will have to create an account before watching, and this service is ad-supported, but these are reasonable compromises, all things considered.
CBC Gem is geo-restricted and usually inaccessible from outside Canada. That said, you can log in and use it abroad by connecting to a Canadian VPN server first.
Britannia season 3: FAQs
Can I use a free VPN to watch Britannia online?
Unfortunately, you will struggle to find a free VPN that allows you to watch Britannia online. First, free VPNs offer poor unblocking of geo-restricted content, with many free VPN IP addresses blacklisted by streaming platforms. Very few work with the likes of Now, Foxtel Go, or Epix — platforms on which you can watch Brittania online.
Second, free VPNs are often far too slow for streaming anyway. Bandwidth throttling is common, resulting in lag and buffering as well as low-resolution streams. Free VPNs are also known to lack security and may keep logs of your online activity. This data may be sold to third parties, compromising your privacy.
What can we expect from Britannia season 3?
The main difference this season is the arrival of a new villain: General Aulus’ wife, Hemple (played by Sophie Okonedo). There hasn’t been a lot of information revealed about her, but we do know that Amena quickly gets onto her bad side. We’ll also see Cait take her future into her own hands rather than simply doing as she’s told, like in the first two seasons.
I clicked on the link for NordVPN, but got a warning at the top of the page that said “status: unprotected” which made me feel that this wasn’t a particularly safe site. I got no such warning with ExpressVPN. I didn’t try the other one. Why would I get that warning if this is a recommended site?
Hi Jun, that’s not a browser warning – it’s NordVPN’s way of showing you that your IP address is visible to any website you visit. Usually if a website is unsafe, your browser will display a full page warning and encourage you to go back. Hope this helps, Ian
Thanks for this info. We added Epix to our Amazon Prime to watch season one and two. However, it still isn’t showing season three, despite what you said here. Are you certain that Epix is offering season three now?
Season 3 will air on EPIX January 16th 2022
Thanks for the heads-up Denise, I’ve updated the post to reflect this. Ian
Hi Dee, there’s still no new info about a US release date but it will almost certainly be on Epix when it does arrive. If you signed up for Epix less than a week ago, you should still be able to get a refund. Hope this helps, Ian
