We understand the frustration of being unable to access your usual sports streaming services during a trip abroad. The good news is that there’s an easy workaround, one that won’t leave you listening to commentary in a language you can’t understand. Below, we’ll explain how to unblock TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport) from anywhere and suggest some of the best Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for the job.
First, let’s explain what a VPN is and how they work. VPNs encrypt your internet traffic, preventing hotspot owners, network administrators, or your ISP from seeing what you get up to online. However, they also send your traffic through servers in another country, which spoofs your location and lets you access region-locked services like TNT Sports from abroad.
Our team of experts have personally tried out dozens of leading VPNs to find out which are the best for accessing TNT Sports while traveling abroad. We go into detail a little later, but in case you’re short on time, here’s a summary of our top choices:
- NordVPN: Our top choice for accessing TNT Sports from anywhere. Blazing fast speeds and excellent unblocking ability. Robust security and values your privacy. Has a risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee.
TIP In our testing we found that the cheapest NordVPN plan (Standard) works perfectly for BT Sport. - Surfshark: The best budget VPN for TNT Sports. This privacy-first VPN happily accesses a host of geo-restricted services. Offers solid speeds, strong security, and the ability to secure all of your devices at once.
- IPVanish: Strong streaming ability as well as impressive speeds and security. Great for families due to its low cost and lack of a connection limit.
- ExpressVPN: A veteran provider with beginner-friendly apps and high speeds. Perfect for anyone hoping to live stream TNT Sports abroad.Â
- CyberGhost: This easy to use service boasts impressive performance, a strong set of security tools, and the ability to access TNT Sports anywhere.
- ProtonVPN:Â Highly reliable VPN with a large network and plenty of advanced features. Works with TNT Sport, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, and more.
- PureVPN: Affordable VPN that makes it easy to access TNT Sports outside of the UK. Comes with intuitive apps, steady speeds, and a proven no-logs policy.
- Private Internet Access:Â This VPN has a huge network, no connection limit, and highly-customizable security. Perfect for watching TNT Sports abroad.
Many VPNs claim to work with BT Sport but most (especially free VPNs) are often blocked.
We regularly test the top 70 VPNs with all major streaming sites and this list only includes VPNs which reliably unblock BT Sport and offer a full money-back guarantee, allowing you to try them risk-free.
Criteria for the best TNT Sports VPNs
Not every VPN is even capable of unblocking TNT Sports and some that are lack the speeds for uninterrupted playback. To make sure we only recommended the best of the best, we created a thorough series of tests. We’ll explain these more at the bottom of this post but here’s the short version:
- Speed: As TNT Sports is only available in the UK, it makes sense to test how fast each VPN’s UK servers are. We tested each provider in the morning, at noon, and in the afternoon.
- Streaming ability: We scored providers on how many different UK server locations they had, whether they offered split tunneling (for those multi-tasking days), and the number of popular streaming platforms they could access.
- Security and privacy: VPNs should protect your connection at all times. To find the providers best equipped to do this, we evaluated them against 16 different security and privacy metrics.
- Ease of use: To get you up and running with TNT Sports as quickly as possible, we only chose providers that scored highly on 10 different ease-of-use criteria.
- Value for money: TNT Sports subscriptions are costly enough without having an overly expensive VPN to pay for as well. With this in mind, we only recommended providers that scored highly on eight different value-for-money metrics.

NordVPN is our top VPN choice for streaming BT Sports. It boasts more than 400 British servers and a reputation for delivering impressive speeds. Not only that, based on our extensive research, it’s one of the best for regaining access to geo-blocked services. In fact, this VPN doesn’t even struggle with some of the toughest platforms like Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, so TNT Sports won’t be an issue.

As TNT Sports is UK-based, we tested the speed of NordVPN’s UK servers. Now, drawing from years of experience, we know that speeds can vary drastically throughout the day. That’s why we tested NordVPN three times, once in the morning, once at noon, and once in the evening. You can see the results below.
NordVPN was extremely fast in all three tests, with a download speed that was only 13 Mbps slower than our base connection speed of 250 Mbps. This is an excellent result and means you’ll be able to watch TNT Sports in 4K without interruption.
NordVPN operates with a zero-logs policy. It doesn’t store any information about user sessions, traffic, or timestamps, and this has all verified by external auditors. It uses 256-bit AES encryption and comes with safeguards like a kill switch, DNS and IPv6 leak protection, tracker-blocking, and a new custom protocol (NordWhisper) that’s designed to help you access the internet freely in places like China.
Power users will be pleased with the fact that it helps you pick a server specifically for your requirements – this could be double VPN, Tor over VPN, or dedicated IP.
There’s support for Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. NordVPN also provides detailed setup guides in case you’d like to install it on your router.
Buy this VPN if:
- You want to stream other UK-based platforms
- You want to watch in 4K

- You’re interested in customizing your security setup

- You do a lot of torrenting and want port forwarding

Surfshark is our top budget provider. It operates more than 3,200 servers across 100 countries, including the UK, and works with a ton of geo-blocked services. For instance, you’ll be able to stream TNT Sports, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, and much more wherever you are in the world. Better still, this is one of the only VPNs that can protect all of your devices at the same time.

Now, are Surfshark’s British servers quick enough for HD live streaming? To find out, we tested it at various times of day and charted the results. Let’s take a look:
Surfshark averaged an impressive 229.07 Mbps over the three tests, which was more than 15 Mbps faster than the combined average speed of the other tested providers. It never once dropped below 200 Mbps, a performance level that most of its rivals can only dream of. In short, it’s perfect for any data-intensive task.
This VPN follows a strict no-logs policy and is based in the British Virgin Islands. As such, the company isn’t required to keep any logs and couldn’t divulge details of your activities even if it wanted to.
Its security features include 256-bit encryption, protection against DNS and IPv6 leaks, a kill switch, and automatic malware scanning. That’s not all: it also offers a NoBorders mode that’ll help you browse safely in places like China, as well as a feature that switches your IP address regularly.
Surfshark has apps for both desktop (Linux, Windows, MacOS) and mobile (Android, iOS) devices. Further, it can be manually configured for use with supported network routers.
Buy this VPN if:
- You want to stream in 4K
- You want to share an account with friends and family

IPVanish is a great everyday VPN that just recently doubled the number of countries its network covers. Users have four British locations to choose from (two in Scotland, two in England) and can reliably access platforms like TNT Sports, Channel 4, and BBC iPlayer abroad. As if that wasn’t enough, it can secure all of your devices simultaneously and offers 24/7 customer support.

Slow speeds lead to performance issues, which are annoying at the best of times. When you’re trying to watch a live sporting event though, this kind of issue is unacceptable. To make sure IPVanish was up to the task, we tested its UK servers multiple times. Check out the results:
Luckily, IPVanish was extremely quick. With an average download speed of 226.41 Mbps, it’s fast enough for streaming, gaming, or torrenting. In fact, it was the third-quickest VPN we tested, coming in just behind NordVPN and Surfshark.
Experts in the field agree that to be secure, a VPN must use industry-approved encryption and provide safeguards such as a kill switch, leak protection, and a no-logs policy. IPVanish does all of this and more. It recently added a new threat protection feature that takes care of ads, trackers, and malware for you and can even scramble your traffic to evade some VPN-detection systems.
There are apps for both iOS and Android, as well as desktop support for Windows and MacOS. Manual configuration is supported for routers and Linux systems. The basic subscription is keenly priced, and there’s an Advanced plan that comes with 1TB of cloud storage and a sandboxed secure browser.
Buy this VPN if:
- You want lots of UK servers to choose from
- You want unlimited simultaneous device connections
- You want easy access to streaming services
- You’d find 1TB of cloud storage useful
Don’t buy this VPN if:
- You want a VPN based outside the US
- You’re connecting from China
LARGE SERVER NETWORK:IPVanish allows unlimited connected devices. Fast connections, lightweight easy to use apps, good multi-platform support. Reliable with BT Sport. Comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee on the annual plan.

ExpressVPN is another great VPN with a commitment to privacy and security. There’s a neat and user-friendly interface that’ll guide you through the process of connecting to a server, making it a worthy choice for beginners. Not only that, but it also works with a huge range of streaming platforms at home or when traveling, including TNT Sports. There are servers in 105 countries and five locations in the UK (though none in Scotland, unfortunately).

In real-world scenarios, a VPN will virtually always reduce your speeds to some degree. However, before we can recommend a service, we have to know how big of an impact it’s going to have. Below, you’ll find the results of our ExpressVPN tests:
Our in-depth analysis revealed an average speed of 174.79 Mbps, which is certainly on the higher end of the spectrum. You shouldn’t have any performance issues when live streaming sports, even if you’re watching in 4K (and naturally, this service is suitable for torrenting as well).
Can this VPN keep you safe, though? In a word, yes. The service is registered in the British Virgin Islands, which means it doesn’t fall under the jurisdiction of British authorities and can’t be subjected to mandatory data requests.
It uses unbreakable 256-bit AES encryption and backs that up using DNS and IPv6 leak protection, a kill switch, and an independently verified no-logs policy. If you visit a country with extreme digital censorship, it can even obfuscate your traffic automatically. ExpressVPN has its own protocol named Lightway, which has an even smaller footprint than WireGuard. Its latest updates introduced ad and tracker-blocking too!
It has apps for both Android and iOS, as well as desktop support for Windows, MacOS, and Linux (command line). ExpressVPN even has its own custom router firmware, making it as easy as possible to protect every device you own.
Buy this VPN if:
- You want consistent access to UK streaming services
- You’d find always-on obfuscation useful
- You want to protect every device on a home network
- You want to secure traffic from a device that doesn’t support VPN apps
Don’t buy this VPN if:
- You’re on a tight budget
- You want lots of customization options
STREAM SPORTS ANYWHERE:ExpressVPN reliably unblocks TNT Sports as well as many other streaming services. Fast enough for watching sports uninterrupted, with a strong focus on privacy. Plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Some of these are specially optimized for accessing UK TV platforms like Eurosport, ITVX, and BBC iPlayer, so there’s no guesswork required when you’re trying to watch the big game. The apps are very beginner friendly but if you’re having trouble, support is available 24/7 over live chat.

To find out how fast CyberGhost was, we tested the download speeds of its general-purpose UK servers over the course of a day. You can see the results below.
This provider delivered exceptional performance with an average speed 235.19 Mbps. Its consistency was unmatched, too; our team recorded just 2 Mbps of difference between its highest and lowest results. Whether you’re hoping to torrent anonymously or just live stream sports, CyberGhost has what it takes.
When it comes to security, CyberGhost doesn’t disappoint. Your data is kept safe using 256-bit AES encryption, a kill switch, DNS and IPv6 leak protection, and an independently audited no-logging policy. Advanced users will appreciate the ability to customize when the VPN connects automatically, the split tunneling ability, and the random port connection feature. The company is incorporated in Romania and doesn’t store logs or data of any nature.
Apps are available for both Android and iOS as well as desktop support for Windows, Linux, and MacOS. Alternatively, you can manually install it on most home routers.
Buy this VPN if:
- You want access to lots of UK servers

ProtonVPN is a privacy-focused service developed by the industry-renowned Proton Mail team. It is recognized for its high security, featuring AES encryption, a kill switch, leak protection, and multi-hop connections. The VPN’s no-logs policy and apps are fully audited, with support for OpenVPN, WireGuard, and obfuscated connections.
The provider is ideal for streaming British services like TNT Sports, Sky Sports, Sky Go, and ITVX, whether abroad or on restricted networks within the UK. It also works to watch US TV platforms like Hulu, making it a fantastic all-rounder.

We tested ProtonVPN’s UK servers to find out what sort of speeds users could expect. Tests were performed at three times of day and averaged to account for increased load during peak times. Here are our findings:
ProtonVPN did well, with all three of its results being over 210 Mbps on a 250 Mbps connection. This is well above what you’d need to stream 4K sports without any interruptions, making it a great choice for families who all use the internet at the same time.
If you’re concerned about security, ProtonVPN has you covered. It uses 256-bit AES encryption, DNS and IPv6 leak protection, and a kill switch to secure your traffic at all times. Plus, it follows a professionally-audited no-logs policy. On that note, this VPN is based in Switzerland, where there are no mandatory data retention laws.
There are a handful of advanced tools built-in as well. For instance, you can allow specific apps to pass through the VPN unencrypted, activate the speed-boosting feature, or set up port forwarding for a better torrenting experience. This might sound complicated but customer support staff are on-hand 24/7 via live chat.
Buy this VPN if:
- You want lots of UK server choice
- You want fast download speeds
- You want easy access to the Tor network
- Security and privacy are important to you
Don’t buy this VPN if:
- You’re looking for the cheapest subscription
- You need obfuscation that works in China

PureVPN is located in the British Virgin Islands. It stands out from competitors due to its excellent price-to-feature ratio, which makes it one of the cheapest premium VPNs on the market. And despite being affordable it maintains a no-logs policy that has been independently audited.
PureVPN operates servers in over 65 countries, including the UK. This provides subscribers with access to services like TNT Sports, Sky Sports, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, and Channel 4 from abroad. The VPN is also compatible with major US platforms, including Netflix , Max, and Hulu.

We tested PureVPN’s speeds while connected to its servers in the UK. You can see the results below.
During our hands-on testing, we found that PureVPN delivered impressive performance at all times of the day. It achieved average speeds of 173.72 Mbps, which, while slower than some of the other providers in this list, remains a competitive result. You certainly won’t have any issues live streaming 4K content.
Despite its affordability, PureVPN does not skimp on security, providing robust features like AES encryption, a kill switch, and DNS leak prevention. These features make it an excellent choice for securely accessing streaming services privately at work, school, or traveling.
The primary downside noted in our testing was the slow response time of PureVPN’s live chat support. However, this minor issue is balanced by the VPN’s overall value and performance. If you want to see how it performs, you can try it using its generous 31-day money-back guarantee.
PureVPN apps are available for MacOS, Windows, Linux (command line or GUI), Android, and iOS. This VPN can also be manually installed on most routers.

Private Internet Access is an excellent option for those looking to watch TNT Sport from abroad. Its servers are located in over 91 countries, including the United Kingdom, allowing you to enjoy the Champions League, English Premier League football, and much more. Not only that, but it provides 24/7 support over live chat and lets you connect all of your devices at the same time.

Experts in the field agree that you’ll need a download speed of around 25 Mbps to stream 4K video without interruption, and this increases slightly if you’re watching live. We tested the speed of PIA’s UK servers over the course of a day. You can see the results below.
PIA achieved an average download speed of 107.02 Mbps. While certainly not slow, you may want to choose one of the other providers in this list if you have a particularly slow internet connection (note that our testing speed was 250 Mbps). Otherwise, however, you should be just fine to watch TNT Sports, torrent, play online games, or make video calls.
In terms of security, PIA includes a kill switch, AES encryption, malware protection, and DNS leak protection. Interestingly, PIA lets you select the level of encryption you need, which can further enhance speeds when adjusted. This service follows a zero-logs policy and has been audited multiple times to prove that it doesn’t keep logs.
Private Internet Access has its own Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, and iOS apps. Further, it provides manual setup instructions for a wide range of routers.
Buy this VPN if:
- You want a low-cost subscription
- You want streaming-optimized servers
- You want to share an account with friends and family

- You’re uncomfortable using a US-based service
- You want the fastest available speeds

How to stream TNT Sports abroad with a VPN
Using a VPN to access your TNT Sport account while traveling outside of the UK is perfectly simple. Just follow this step-by-step guide.
Here’s how to watch TNT Sports online from anywhere:
- Sign up for one of the VPN providers mentioned. We particularly recommend NordVPN.
- Once you’ve registered and made the payment, download the app, making sure to get the correct version for your devices.
- Login to the VPN app and select a server in the UK. This will give you a UK IP address.
- Open your browser – Chrome or Firefox should do the job – and access TNT Sport like you normally would.
- If you run into any problems, try clearing your cookies and cache to remove old location identifiers and restart your device. Alternatively, connect to a different server or contact the VPN’s customer service team for more help.

Our methodology: How we found the best VPNs for TNT Sports
Consumers have never had more options when it comes to choosing a VPN. However, there are a huge number of services that overpromise and underdeliver, with many failing to work with TNT Sports at all. To find the best VPNs for the job, we tested them in the following areas:
Speed
Given that TNT Sports is only available in the UK, we specifically tested the speeds of each provider’s UK servers. Measurements were taken using the desktop version of the Ookla speed-testing app, which was installed on a virtual machine that had been rate-limited to 250 Mbps. This figure was chosen as it’s the median average of fixed broadband speeds in the US. It helps us replicate the average user’s experience with each provider.
We then combined this data and converted the speed performance into a score out of 10. You can see those results in the chart below.
NordVPN was the fastest provider overall, narrowly beating CyberGhost. Surfshark and IPVanish were also notably quick. All four VPNs are great options for preserving your base connection speed and enjoying TNT Sports in the highest resolution.
Streaming ability
We scored providers on how many UK server locations they had. This gives users an idea of how many servers each provider is likely to have in the country (actual numbers can be hard to come by). We also scored each VPN on its compatibility with popular streaming platforms beyond just TNT Sports. We then checked whether providers offered split tunneling — which would allow users to stream TNT Sports while using other apps with a regular internet connection.
Finally, we combined the scores to give us an overall “streaming ability” score out of 10. We used this to compare providers.
ExpressVPN scored highest, with the most UK server locations, excellent access to all popular streaming platforms, and an easy-to-use split-tunneling feature. Surfshark was a close second.
Security and privacy
VPNs that lack adequate security and privacy are a little pointless. Before recommending providers, we required as-yet-uncrackable encryption, a no-logs policy, a kill switch, and protection against DNS and IPv6 leaks at a bare minimum. We also evaluated providers on several other metrics which you can see the table below.
VPN Provider | Activity logs | IP logs | Encryption | Authentication | Keys | Perfect Forward Secrecy | DNS leak protection | IPv6 leak protection | Private DNS | Torrenting allowed | Kill switch | HQ outside 9 eyes | Obfuscation | Supported protocols | Anonymous payment options | Additional security features |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
NordVPN | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-384 | 4096-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | All platforms | Yes | Stealth | Own protocol | Multiple | Yes |
Surfshark | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-512 | 4096-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Mobile app-level | No | Stealth | Secure protocols only | Multiple | Yes |
IPVanish | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-256 | 4096-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | All platforms | Yes | Stealth | Secure protocols only | None | No |
ExpressVPN | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-512 | 4096-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Mobile app-level | Yes | Automatic | Own protocol | Multiple | No |
CyberGhost | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-256 | 4096-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | All platforms | Yes | Stealth | Secure protocols only | Multiple | No |
Proton VPN | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-512 | 2048-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | All platforms | Yes | Stealth | Secure protocols only | One | Yes |
PureVPN | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-256 | 4096-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Some platforms | Yes | Automatic | Secure protocols only | One | No |
PIA | No activity logs | No IP logs | AES-128 or higher | SHA-256 | 4096-bit | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | All platforms | No | Stealth | Secure protocols only | Multiple | Yes |
We assigned a score to each of these metrics so that we were left with an overall score out of ten. This makes it easier to compare providers.
NordVPN and Surfshark are the best equipped to keep you safe online. They have audited no-logs policies, strong encryption, and powerful obfuscation. ProtonVPN is also a solid choice.
Ease of use
You shouldn’t need a degree in networking to stream safely. We believe that the best VPNs are those that welcome new users, whether by removing barriers or making things as easy as possible (simplifying menus and providing around-the-clock support). You can see how each provider performed against the various ease-of-use criteria in the table below.
VPN Provider | Apps for all major platforms | Novice-friendly design | Ease of signup (reviewer to score) | Router support | Unblocking consistency | Task specific servers | Network | Ease of cancellation | Interface | Feature parity |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
NordVPN | Yes | Yes | 5 (easy) | Standard | Great | Yes | 60+ countries | Very easy | Well-organised | Most features available on all versions |

PIA | Yes | Yes | 5 (easy) | Standard | Great | Yes | 60+ countries | Very easy | Well-organised | Most features available on all versions |
Each of these criteria was given a score, which we combined to create an overall score out of ten. This makes it easier to compare providers.
NordVPN and PIA have the easiest-to-use services overall, with well-structured interfaces and strong customer support. IPVanish is a good alternative.
Value for money
We looked at several aspects of value when assessing TNT Sports VPNs. This, of course, included subscription costs. But, more importantly, we considered what you’re actually getting for your money. We looked for free trials, money-back guarantees, and discounts for longer-term commitments. You can see how providers performed against the various criteria in the table below.
VPN Provider | Money-back guarantee | Connection limit | Subscription terms | Sale frequency | Monthly pricing | Lowest price | Free trial available | Student discount |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
NordVPN | Yes | 6+ | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | <$13 | <$5 | Yes | Yes |
Surfshark | Yes | Unlimited | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | <$10 | <$5 | Yes | Yes |
IPVanish | Yes | Unlimited | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | <$13 | <$5 | Yes | Yes |
ExpressVPN | Yes | 6+ | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | $15+ | $5+ | Yes | Yes |
CyberGhost | Yes | 6+ | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | <$13 | <$5 | Yes | Yes |
Proton VPN | Yes | 6+ | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | <$10 | $5+ | Yes | No |
PureVPN | Yes | 6+ | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | <$13 | <$5 | Yes | No |
PIA | Yes | Unlimited | 3 terms+ | Frequently running deals | <$13 | <$5 | Yes | No |
After assigning points based on what each VPN had to offer, we added these up, resulting in a score out of 10 for each provider. Let’s take a look at how they compare relative to each other:
Surfshark is the best value provider overall. It allows unlimited simultaneous device connections and has great value long-term subscriptions. IPVanish is the next-best option if you like a good deal.
BT Sports becomes TNT Sports
As of July 2023, BT Sport has been replaced by TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland.
TNT Sports went live on July 17, 2023. The rebrand was a result of the Warner Bros. Discovery joint venture. TNT Sports presents the premium live sports rights previously carried by BT Sport, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Heineken Champions Cup, EPCR Challenge Cup, MotoGP, cricket, UFC, Boxing, and WWE. Additionally, the Olympic Games Paris 2024, grand slam tennis tournaments, including the Australian Open and Roland-Garros, and cycling – including the Tour de France.
Discovery+ is the UK home for TNT Sports, but you don’t need an existing Discovery+ subscription to watch. Just sign up for TNT Sports (currently £30.99 GBP per month) and you’ll be able to sign into Discovery+ and watch all of your favorite sports.
In the UK, TNT Sports is available across all major pay-TV platforms, including BT TV, Sky, and Virgin Media. Existing BT Sport customers can watch TNT Sports without needing to take any further action.
Some VPNs to avoid
If you’re opting to access TNT Sports with a VPN, you want to be reassured that your privacy and data won’t be compromised. Unfortunately, some VPN companies don’t safeguard these ethics and will hand over user data when asked. We recommend you avoid such services.
Here are two examples of VPN providers that we believe you should steer clear of:
1. HolaVPN
Israel-based Hola, which operated a popular VPN extension for Chrome, boasted an impressive user base of 50 million at one point. However, they unethically leveraged that to their advantage by turning the users into a massive botnet.
What this meant was that a part of every Hola user’s bandwidth was turned into a pawn. The critical mass was leveraged for attacks on other sites, promoting copyrighted content and pornography.
2. UFO VPN
Hong Kong-based provider UFO VPN offered a free plan and supposedly had a zero-log policy. However, they, in fact, kept detailed logs of user information. Not only did UFO log these details, but a database of them was released online in plain text with no password protection or encryption. Meaning anyone could access the information and use it to track users and monitor their online activity. This happened more than once and affected users of both the free and paid VPN packages.
We recommend you avoid these two VPN providers at all costs.
Free VPN for watching BT Sport (TNT Sports)
We are regularly asked, “Can I use a free VPN to access TNT Sports?” We understand the temptation, but the reality is that you’ll be receiving a fraction of the same standards that paid options offer.
Free VPNs monetize by inundating you with invasive advertisements, inserting tracking cookies, and selling your data. That’s because they’re spending hard cash in building and maintaining the service and need to see some returns on this investment. It’s a stark reminder of the fact that when the product is free, you end up being the product.
The VPNs mentioned in this list have hundreds of servers spread worldwide, and engineers are constantly fine-tuning the product. Free VPN services offer a mere microcosm of the same experience. You’ll have restricted options, bandwidth throttling, and data caps.
If you’re really strapped for cash, we recommend you read through our list of VPNs with a free trial or make the most of the VPNs on this list with money-back guarantees.
How to fix TNT Sports not working with VPN
If your VPN isn’t working with TNT Sports there are a few things to consider.
Many VPNs have already been blocked by TNT Sports (BT Sport), which is why you must stick to one of our recommendations. If your current VPN does not work with TNT Sports, you can try the tips below to get it working, but if that fails, we would advise canceling your account and switching to one of the VPNs that have been tested in this guide.
Why isn’t my VPN working with TNT Sports? We have listed possible reasons below:

- The server you are using has already been blocked by TNT Sports
- Your device is out of date, and you need to update the operating system or apps.
- Your VPN settings need to be adjusted.
- Your current VPN cannot bypass TNT Sports’ geo-restrictions.
If you are already subscribed to a recommended VPN for TNT Sports, you can follow the steps below to get it up and running:
- Check that you are connected to a server in the UK
- Try a different UK server. You can check with your VPN to find out which server is optimized for streaming.

- Reinstall your VPN software to access the latest version.
- Check the settings and switch to a different VPN protocol.
- Contact the VPN’s live chat support for help
Running through this list should allow you to get the VPN running properly. If you still have problems, contact your VPN to ask for help.

TNT Sports, formerly known as BT Sport, is a one-stop destination for sports lovers, offering a fantastic mix of live events, highlights, and exclusive coverage across various sports.
You can catch all the action from football (including Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and FA Cup), rugby, cricket, tennis, boxing, and more. I have a new 18 month Youview contract and I will be in South Africa for an extended period during the contract. I have a spare Youview box from a previous contract. Could I use it as a set-top box plus a decent VPN to pick up the same content from South Africa during my contract period? I’m not just interested in sport.
